This is my pumpkin design. Notice that it is unique compared to most others. It has a small, rectangular body with only one eye.

I believe my supply list is very well thought out. It not only presents supplies for the listed emergencies, but it is designed for the majority of emergency situations.

Select more accessible items (some of the ones on the list are not)
Bring necessary medications
Pet supplies should be brought (if necessary)
Bring a hat

Cardboard Canoe Challenge

Here are some pictures of our sketches, scale models, and the actual canoe:

We ended up creating a different design for the boat.


Scale Models:

This design was our original choice, it was shaped like a canoe and used oars.

This canoe had a stabilizer to help keep it from tipping over.

This design was basically a normal canoe, but it had a flat back instead of the same features flowing throughout it.

Here's me testing out the boat. It was actually pretty comfortable.


Now you see the boat being covered with duck tape. This will seal it so water is not as likely to get into the boat.

1) Sketch Ideas-  My team did three drawings for three possible boat designs as shown above
2) Prototype ideas- As shown above
3) Build It!- As shown above
4) Redesign- I would have put more stabilizers on the boat so that it would balance better

My first blog post!

Hi! My name is Christopher Cervantes, this is my first blog ever since last year. I like to play most sports (I don't have a favorite sport), I like video games, Movies, I like Tae Kwon Do, etc. I currently participate in Boy Scouts, Cross Country, and Tae Kwon Do. I may join a NJROTC club eventually, probably the colorguard, armed basic, or marksman club. When I grow up, I am going to do something good with my life. Probably something under the category of law enforcement (NCIS, FBI, etc.). But before that I am going to go into either the Navy or the Marines. I think I want to be a fighter pilot during that time.This NJROTC symbol represents my ROTC class. It is one of my favorite classes.
